Workday allows users to delegate tasks and approvals to others. Tasks and other inbox items may only be delegated in accordance with this policy.
- A user (worker) may delegate certain Workday business process items to another user as permitted in this policy.
- All delegations must be approved by the Security Partner. If the delegation is being requested for more than one year, the Security Partner must also approve it.
- The Workday Operations team and/or Solution Center may create, review, cancel or modify a delegation as necessary to comply with policy and to address delegation requests from the authorized person(s) in the School/Center for unplanned departures, leaves of absences, etc.
- An employee may delegate to any worker in Workday and the Security Partner is responsible for determining if that delegation is appropriate. The following standards should be applied when considering if a delegation should be approved:
a. The delegation should be made on a temporary basis and have an end date of no longer than one year.
b. The delegate and any alternate delegates should be in a position of equal or higher authority than the person delegating.
c. University senior leadership may delegate to individuals reporting directly to them and for periods of longer than one year. - The Workday Operations team will be responsible for auditing delegations.
